* A Hall is primarily for senior core classes, chemistry and physics classes, and foreign language. B Hall is primarily for electives such as art, engineering, computing, and several others. C Hall currently is primarily for technical classes, and some biology and chemistry (science) courses. D Hall contains the two gyms and locker rooms. E Hall is for sophomore classes while F hall is commonly known as the "Freshman Hall" and is designated primarily for ninth graders.

* Since opening, the school has grown greatly. The school first expanded when it added a new two-story addition which opened in 1997. Due to continued growth, the school again added a two-story addition which opened in 2006. A new band/orchestra building was also added in 2006.

History

The plans for Brookwood High School were started in 1977 to lessen the overcrowding of nearby high schools of South Gwinnett High School and Parkview High School. A committee of educators from Gwinnett County met together to create and discuss specifications for the facility. The school officially opened in 1981 under the leadership of principal Emmett Lawson. Recently, former principal Jane Stegall ended her teaching and administration career in May 2007, retiring at the end of the month.

The school derived its name literally from its location on the intersection of Holly Brook Road and Dogwood Road. Recently the school has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special dance, chorus, and orchestra concert.
