Derren Litten (born 21 December 1970) is a British comedy writer and actor. He is best known as the co-writer of the award-winning The Catherine Tate Show, for which he wrote and appeared as several different characters in the first two series and the 2005 Christmas Special. He has also acted in many comedy and drama series including Perfect World, French and Saunders, Spaced, EastEnders, Green Wing and Pie in The Sky with Richard Griffiths. His first sitcom Benidorm was made for ITV1 in 2007 and has been re-commissioned for a fourth series. He did write for an episode of Not Going Out, and is also the credited writer of an episode of the Only Fools and Horses spin-off Green Green Grass.

He maintains a blog on his official website and used to 'Twitter' regularly. Derren closed his Twitter account (on 27 June 2010 at 12.20 am) in order to devote more time to his writing. [1] But he returned at 5.29 pm on 21 January 2011. During the break from his personal account, he used one called BenidormTweets to keep fans informed during the filming the Benidorm Christmas Special and Series 4..
