With height 751 m (2,464 ft) on the Lantau Island, it is situated immediate north of Ngong Ping where Buddhist Po Lin Monastery located. Nei Lak, or correctly Mei Lak is a Cantonese language translation of Maitreya, the future Buddha, in Buddhism.
There will be a stop of a cable car project, Ngong Ping 360, in the hill.
