Early life and family

Atias was born in Haifa, Israel, to parents of Moroccan Jewish descent.[1] Atias appeared on the youth TV show "Out of Focus" at age 15, although plans of serving in the Israeli Defense Forces were cut short with a diagnosis of meningitis at age 17. Atias instead pursued modeling in Germany and then Italy, where she was first discovered and became a model for Roberto Cavalli. [1]

A few of her achievements include testimonial nomination by the City of Milan to be the official spokeswoman leading the campaigns against graffiti and animal cruelty for 2005-06. Following her success abroad, Moran was cast in the Israeli "Strauss" commercial and chosen to lead the "Renuar" campaign. She has also won the title of Miss Israel.

Career

Atias first appeared on TV when she was 15, starring in the Israeli youth show Out of Focus. By the age of 17, she flew to Germany to launch her international modeling career which also led her to Italy, in which she was truly discovered for cover and runway modelling, TV show hostess, film acting, radio, etc. She was discovered by Roberto Cavalli who selected her to be his home model. She also modelled for D&G and for BBG jeweleries. Later, she was the hostess of a popular TV talk show in Italy. After establishing herself as a successful international model, she was encouraged to pursue a career in acting.[1] Atias has participated in international films in English, Italian, Hebrew and Spanish and was nominated for Best Actress in 'Festival Sguardo al Femminile' for her role in Days of Love.

A frequent collaborator of Paul Haggis, she was cast as the beautiful temptress Inez in the television series Crash.[2] She also had a featured role in Haggis' 2010 film The Next Three Days.[1] She hosted the Israeli version of Deal or No Deal. In 2007, she appeared as the title role in Dario Argento's conclusion to his Three Mothers trilogy: The Mother of Tears.

Moran appeared as Diana Barrigan (Marsha Thomason)'s girlfriend Christie in the third season of White Collar, which began airing in June 2011.[3]

Humanitarian work

Atias participated in the Artists for Justice and Peace volunteer mission with Sean Penn following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, in which she assisted the evacuation of refugees to Florida.[1] During Moran's second trip to Haiti, she took part in a workshop at Cine Institute in Jacmel. She is a goodwill ambassador for IsraAid.

In May 2010, Moran worked with Artists for Peace and Justice (APJ) and hosted/organized a charity event at Cannes Film Festival. In November 2010, Moran hosted/organized a charity event for APJ in New York, with proceeds going to the first free high school for the children of the slums of Haiti.
