Kdam Eurovision

The Kdam Eurovision (Hebrew: קדם אירוויזיון , transliterated as "Pre-Erovizyon") in short also known as the Kdam (Hebrew: קדם, lit. "Pre") is the Israeli national preselection of the Eurovision Song Contest. The competition was first introduced in 1981. Since then it has adopted a number of formats but is mostly known for featuring twelve songs performed by twelve different singers. This format was dropped in 1988, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2008. In these years, IBA selected the performer first and whoever was chosen performed a number of songs on the show.Until present, Israel was able to win the Eurovision Song Contest three times, but none of the victories thus far have come from Kdam. In 1978 and 1979 the Israeli participant was chosen at the Festival Ha'zemer Ve Ha'pizmon (Israeli Song Festival) and both winners went on to ultimately win the Song Contest.
