Florida Coastal Airlines (FCA) was an airline based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. It operated services in Florida and the Bahamas. It was declared bankrupt and ceased services in 2006. In August 2008, Florida Coastal Airlines, Inc. resumed services as an associated carrier of [Lynx Air International]

History

The airline ceased most flight operations in February 2006 and filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition on February 21, 2006, but the petition was not immediately accepted by the court and its status and effect are not clear at this time. In August of 2008, Florida Coastal Airlines resumed operations as a affiliate carrier of Lynx Air International. Florida Coastal Airlines is operating to select airports in the Bahamas, (New Bight, Cat Island) (Georgetown, Exuma) (Governours Harbour, Eleuthera) (North Eleuthera, Eleuthera) (Congo Town, Andros Island) from its new base of operations at (Fort Lauderdale International Airport).

The carrier is currently operating a fleet of two (2) Cessna 402C aircraft. N425RC and N77FC. The carrier is negotiating for the acquisition of up to two (2) additional Cessna 402C aircraft and two (2) Saab 340A aircraft.

Lynx Air International is handling Florida Coastal Airlines reservations, passenger handling, and cargo handling.

Fleet

FCA is operating a fleet of two Cessna 402Cs. A third 402C aircraft is expected in October 2008

FCA has two Saab340a aircraft which are pending FAA approval to commence operations
