(2004)Professional ratings Review scores Source Rating Allmusic [1] Moment of Glory is the fifteenth studio album by German heavy metal band Scorpions with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. At first the English composer Andrew Powell was asked to provide arrangements. As they would have reduced the orchestra too much, being only a symphonic accompaniment, both the Philharmonics and the Scorpions regarded the arrangements not to be satisfying. As mentioned by Klaus Meine, Michael Kamen was designated next for the orchestral material. After his declining to collaborate with Metallica for the album S&M, finally the Austrian arranger Christian Kolonovits proved to be the right collaborator. Track notes
Its title track "Moment of Glory" was the official anthem of the EXPO 2000 in Hanover, Germany.
"Hurricane 2000," the reworking of "Rock You Like a Hurricane," is the official theme song to Sabres Hockey Network broadcasts.
The instrumental "Deadly Sting Suite" is based on two earlier Scorpions tracks, "He's A Woman, She's A Man" and "Dynamite".[4]
Here in My Heart, written by Diane Warren, was recorded by Tiffany 10 years earlier for her album New Inside.
The sixth track, "Crossfire" repeats the main theme of the Russian song Moscow Nights.[3]
