One Heart is the eighth studio album by Filipino singer Sarah Geronimo, released in the Philippines on May 13, 2011 by Viva Records. The album consists of original songs and cover songs of OPM classics. It also includes the theme song, "Fallin'", from her movie Catch Me, I'm in Love with Gerald Anderson. It features a lot of romantic love ballads (mostly revivals) which clearly define the ecstacy and pain Sarah must have felt when she fell in love and lost[1].
Upon release, the album received positive response from music critics who stated that Sarah's voice fits perfectly to each song. In 2011, she won Best Female Recording Artist on the Box Office Entertainment Awards [2]. Additionally, the album was surprisingly a commercial hit. Despite having the least promotion because Sarah Geronimo had to go to United States to attend voice and dance lessons, it managed to reach Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) in July 2011, denoting 20,000 units sold.
Three singles were released from the album. "Sino Nga Ba Sya" was the first official single. It was released December of 2010 on MYX , it was also released before the album launch. This heart achingly beautiful ballad is delivered with a sincere depth that only a handful of artists out there, Sarah included of course, can muster[3]. The second single was "Kug Siya Ang Mahal". this one just takes the icing when it comes to heartaches. This ballad, a first time original and an OPM gem in-the-making, is a Vehnee Saturno written tune royally interpreted by Sarah. It’s something familiar yet different at the same time, an OPM ballad peppered with vocal R&B-isms but an emotional love song thru and thru[3]."Bakit Pa Ba" was released as the third single off the album. Unlike the two releases, it doesn’t had a music video to be solicited to music channels. All the singles were composed by Vehnee Saturno.
To date, the album has sold 20,000+ units in the country, certifying Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI), two months after its commercial release[4].

Background
Vehnee, who also did Be My Lady for Martin Nievera, Isang Lahi for Regine Velasquez, Sana Kahit Minsan for Ariel Rivera, Only Me And You for Donna Cruz and other hits, dominates Sarah’s line-up. He wrote and produced six songs, all done in his sure hit style. These include the first two single releases, Sino Nga Ba Siya and Kung Siya Ang Mahal and the title cut, One Heart. There are also the Vehnee hits covers, Nag-iisang Ikaw, first recorded by Louie Heredia and Bakit Pa Ba? that he composed for Jay R and then there is the new showstopping original Within that singing contestants will surely adore. I am tempted to say I am sad that there is one non-OPM entry in the CD. This is bonus track, Fallin’, the Marvin Hamlish/ Carol Bayer song from the musical They’re Playing Our Song. But it’s a nice tune and was used as the theme of the movie Catch Me… I’m In Love, which starred Sarah and Gerard Anderson. So let us forgive that and check out the other Fallin’, that Sarah sings beautifully. This one was written and was originally a hit by Janno Gibbs who, I must add, is a very good composer and should write more songs. Also included in One Heart are Sa Isip Ko, a cover of the Agot Isidro hit composed by Dennis Garcia of Hotdog; If You Could Read My Mind by Christian Martinez; I Miss You by Louie Ocampo; Bata, a duet with Kean Cipriano of CallaLily; More Than You’d Believe, written and produced by Tito Cayamanda; Handang Umibig Muli written and produced by Marcus Davis; and Ikaw, a duet with Concert King Martin Nievera of the Louie Ocampo/George Canseco classic.[5].
Singles
After one-and-a-half years since the release of the now multi-platinum record Music and Me, she is finally back on the music scene with a more mature sound and a more personal CD. Early in January, several weeks after the rift between her and Cristine Reyes reached public attention, the 22-year-old released a single coupled with a music video directed by Paul Alexei Basinillio. The single was entitled “Sino Nga Ba Siya.” It became a teaser to the album that features sentimental tracks, generally about heartaches. Meanwhile, since its release, Sarah’s fans has viewed the music video more than a million times on YouTube. "Sino Nga Ba Sya" was released December 2010 as the first single from One Heart. "Kung Siya Ang Mahal" was released in May 2011 as the second commercial single from the album. The song was one of the most-requested out of all the album's tracks. this one just takes the icing when it comes to heartaches. This ballad, a first time original and an OPM gem in-the-making, is a Vehnee Saturno written tune royally interpreted by Sarah. It’s something familiar yet different at the same time, an OPM ballad peppered with vocal R&B-isms but an emotional love song thru and thru. "Bakit Pa Ba" was released in August 2011 as the first commercial single from the album. The song was originally recorded by Jay R, but the lyrics were changed.
Critical Reception
Baby A. Gil of The Philippine Star was impressed with the original Filipino compositions, stating "It truly gladdens the heart that, Sarah, who is one of the country’s top hitmakers today has gone back, not only to Saturno songs but to other original Filipino compositions as well."[6] Nickie Wang of Manila Standard Today noticed Geronimo's improvement, saying "Though Sarah is sending different messages from what the new album really speaks of, one fact is undeniable; she is mending a broken heart and it’s evident on how she rendered the songs in the album. Apparently, Sarah is now more believable when she belts sad love songs. She no longer has to internalize because she can perfectly relate with the lyrics."[7] Remy Umerez of Journal Online stated "She explores more on the many faces of love in Vehnee Saturno's "Sino Nga Ba Siya", to biritable "Kung Siya ang Mahal" and the only danceable cut "Handang Umibig Muli."[8] Rito P. Asilo of Philippine Daily Inquirer said "If you're tired of the cacophony of imitative covers and repetitive melodies on the local recording scene, you’ll find Sarah Geronimo’s latest album, One Heart, a breath of fresh air." He described the album as a "more mature sound for Geronimo."[9]
