Neatsville is named in honor of Rudolph Neat (ca. 1754-ca. 1821) who was an early pioneer of Adair County, Kentucky from North Carolina. Rudolph Neat was one of the leading citizens of his generation. Many of Rudolph Neat's descendants live at Neatsville and in Adair County today. Mr. Erwin Heinrich Lepiarczyk II, of Ozark, Adair County, Kentucky, is a descendant of Rudolph Neat.
