Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium (名古屋港水族館 nagoyakō suizokukan?) is a public aquarium in Minato-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Contents

Killer whales

Since 2003, the aquarium kept an orca named Kū (クー?) on loan from another aquarium, who served in the aquarium until its death on September 19, 2008(2008-09-19).[2][3]

Nami

In 2010, the aquarium acquired an orca named Nami (ナミちゃん nami-chan?), who was to live at the aquarium permanently and feature in its Orca Show. Unfortunately, Nami died shortly after its arrival and public debut at this aquarium, dying on January 14, 2011(2011-01-14).[4]

Bingo and Stella

Plans made for January/February of 2011 for the aquarium to receive two orcas, a male and a female, Bingo and Stella, on five-year loan from Kamogawa Seaworld in Chiba Prefecture. However, as of early March, the transfer has yet to happen.[5]

Access

The aquarium is close to Nagoyakō Station on the subway's Meikō Line.
