Mountain View Middle School (also known as MVMS) is a public middle school located in Newman Lake, Washington. It serves 6th 7th and 8th graders living in the East Valley School District area. It has a fntastic view of Mountain Spokane. It is one of two main middle schools in the East Valley School District, the other being East Valley Middle School.[4]

Mountain View Middle School was closed at the end of 2010-2011 school year. Reason lays behind the EVSD bond which was passed in March, and rejected in April. Mountain View was merged with East Valley Middle School, and Skyview Elementary. EVMD will have grades 7th-8th, while Elementary schools will have K-6th grade, this system is similar to Spokane Public Schools system.[5]

Mountain View Middle School was established in 1979 as Mountain View Junior High School, and was later renamed to Mt. View Middle in 1990.

Location

Mountain View Middle School is located at 011 N. Chase Newman Lake, Washington. MVMS shares it's field with East Farms Elementary, which is also a near by Elementary school to Mountain View.

Mountain View Middle School vision statement: We at Mountain View Middle School are dedicated to developing a challenging, integrated curriculum that prepares our students for the future. With the cooperation of staff, students and parents, we are committed to providing a rewarding education for each individual in a clean, safe, respectful environment.

Demographics

As of April 2011, there are total of 470 Students in Mountain View Middle School. There are 238 males, and 232 females. White students have the biggest ethnic representation at 93.19% with African American follow at 0.85%, Asian/Pacific Islander at 1.28%, Hispanic at 1.91%, and American Indian/Alaskan Native at 2.77%.
