Moldovan Identity Card is a compulsory identity document issued in Republic of Moldova. Every Moldovan citizen who is resident in Republic of Moldova must have an ID card, issued by the State Enterprise and Information Resources Centre "Registru". The following age groups are: From birth until 10 years of age (the card can be issued without bearers photo.) From 10 years of age until 16 years. From 16 years of age until 25 years. From 25 years of age until 45 years. From 45 years of age identity card is not required to be renewed.

Physical appearance
The card is hard plastic and rectangular in shape, 105 × 74 mm in size. On the front side of ID card photograph of bearer is placed on the left side also left side bears a round hologram. Top of the card bears title REPUBLICA MOLDOVA in Romanian language, below the country title, inscription of BULETIN DE IDENTITATE and country code MDA in Romanian language. On verso side the card bears similar identity information with exception of the photo and information is written in both English and Russian languages. In addition to plastic ID card a soft paper booklet is issued with the card, bearing information on residency, civil and military status.

The descriptions of the fields are printed in Romanian (front side), English and Russian (verso).

Fees
Moldovan citizens up to 16 years of age inclusive can receive ID card without any fees. All other citizens must acquire ID card for minimum cost of 160 MDL lei.
International travel
Currently moldovan citizens cannot travel outside Republic of Moldova using ID card.
