Shri Mohan Swarup was son of Kuwar Shambhu Shai, a prominent freedom fighter and social worker from Vill. Sahora.[1]

Early life and education
Sri Mohan Swarup had his education from Bareilly College, in Bareilly and married Shrimati Shanti Devi in May 1940 at the age of 22 and had four sons and two daughters from her.[1]
Career
Shri Mohan Swarup was previously associated with PSP till 1970. He was actively worked for various post and as a member of various commettees.[1]

He was elected as second Member of Parliament from Pilibhit Constituency with 50.54% votes on Praja Socialist Party's Ticket and defeated his rival contender who was from Indian National Congress and received 34.86% votes in the general election held in the 1957.
He was elected again as third Member of Parliament from Pilibhit Constituency with 29.62% votes on Praja Socialist Party's Ticket and defeated his rival contender who was from Indian National Congress and received 27.42% votes in the general election held in the 1962.
For the general election held in the 1967, He was elected again as fourth Member of Parliament from Pilibhit Constituency with 28.24% votes on Praja Socialist Party's Ticket and defeated his rival contender who was from Indian National Congress and received 24.26% votes.
In the general election held in the 1972, he took Indian National Congress's ticket from Pilibhit Constituency and won the seat with 38.96% votes and defeated his nearest contestant who was from Indian National Congress and received only 29.37% votes.
Personal life
He was highly interested in visiting across the globe to understand the new concepts to develop more, in this regard he visited countries like Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Egypt, U.K., West Germany, France, Switzerland and Burma. Apart from this, he had special interest in Shooting, swimming, horse-riding, painting, writing and photography.[1]
