Once major labels made the decision not to invest in artist development, Mia Mind Music was formed to assist new artists with their budding careers.
With over 25 years of business, Mia Mind Music has been dedicated to creating public awareness for one’s product or services via their contacts in the music industry and their assortment of services and campaigns.
Services, such as radio and press promotion, independent record distribution, video campaigns, internet services, tour merchandise and retail consulting, have earned Mia Mind Music’s staff 23 gold and platinum records. There is also a division that handles Internet services as well as setting up and designing tour merchandise. Mia Mind Music is one of the only promotion and marketing companies affiliated with Select-O-Hits for independent record distribution.
While trying to generate awareness for their clients, Mia Mind Music has stirred up some of its own. Billboard, CMJ, Spin (magazine), MTV News, New York Post, Daily News (New York), Hollywood Reporter, Sure Shot, and Rap Fanatic, all have either featured or covered events this promotion and marketing company has been involved with.

History
Mia Mind Music, started out as a publishing company called Mia Music in 1984. In 1986, Mindfield Records and Mia Mind Music entered a business agreement, joined forces, and Mia Music became Mia Mind Music. In 1987, Mindfield Records was sold to the Polygram group in the United Kingdom. Stevie B regained ownership of the publishing division.
In 1989, when Stevie B partnered with Stephen Pritchitt, a former Vice President of Polygram Records in the United States and Micheal Youkon, Esq to establish Mia Mind Music as a promotion and marketing company. They began working with artists like Tommy James, Alex Chilton, Madonna and Larry Brown.
Mia Mind Music raised awareness and money in support of 2 Live Crew’s 1989 release “As Nasty as They Wanna Be”. The album’s lyrics were said to be obscene and illegal. They created a video called “Power of Attorney”, which was featured on MTV, of which portions of the proceeds collected were donated to the 2 Live Crew’s defense and various American Civil Liberties Union causes.[citation needed]
Mia Mind Music has expanded in its involvement with video production, video promotion and digital photography among many other things. The company has provided internships to students and speaking at various universities, colleges, schools and entertainment seminars.[citation needed]
