Production

In June 2011, frontman Jaret Reddick said that the band was working on a new Bowling for Soup Christmas album.[6] On August 23rd, Reddick announced he was heading to Valve Studios (in Dallas, Texas).[5] The following day, bassist/vocalist Erik Chandler said on Twitter that it was "drums and bass day with Gary and Jaret."[10] In a Twitter post on August 24th, 2011, the band stated that they had recorded "four original [songs] and one classic" for the album.[4] Reddick stated via Twitter on October 3, 2011, that the album will consist of five to seven songs, all but one of which are originals.[11]
