Mercantile Credit Bank Limited, commonly referred to as Mercantile Credit Bank (MCB), is a credit institution (Tier II Financial Institution) in Uganda.[2]

Location

The headquarters of Mercantile Credit Bank are located at 10 Old Port Bell Road, in Kampala's Industrial Area.[3] This location is approximately four (4) city blocks southeast of Garden City Mall and Hotel Africana, both located within the city's central business district. The coordinates of the headquarters of MCB are:00 10 07N, 32 35 57E (Latitude:0.3185; Longitude:32.5985).

Overview

Mercantile Credit Bank Limited is a Tier II Financial Institution (MFI). As a credit institution, it is not authorized to establish checking accounts or deal in foreign exchange. The company is authorized to take in customer deposits and establish savings accounts. It is also authorized to make collateralized and non-collateralized loans to savings and non-savings customers. Its activities are supervised by the Bank of Uganda, Uganda's Central Bank.[4]
