Matthew Cody Moore (born June 18, 1989 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida) is a pitcher in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. He is considered the Rays second best prospect for 2011 by Baseball America.[1]

High School
In 2007, he was named Gatorade’s New Mexico Player of the Year. The Tampa Bay Rays selected Moore in the 8th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft out of Moriarty High School in New Mexico.[2]
Professional career
He performed well in the Appalachian League in 2007 and 2008 (striking out 106 in just 74 innings of work), then posted a 3.15 ERA with a 176/70 K/BB in just 123 innings for Low-A Bowling Green Hot Rods in '09. In 2010, he struck out 208 in 145 innings for High-A Charlotte Stone Crabs, with just 109 hits allowed and a 3.36 ERA, walking 109. He led the minors in strikeouts in both '09 and '10.[3]
On July 10, 2011 he pitched in the All-Star Futures Game at Arizona’s Chase Field. He threw a no-hitter for the AA Montgomery Biscuits on June 16, 2011 at Mobile, the ninth in the history of the Rays organization (including majors and minors), totaling nine innings and 11 strikeouts.[4] He was named a starting pitcher on Baseball America's 2011 Minor League All Star team.[5]
Moore was called up on September 12, 2011.[6] Moore's 2nd MLB start was during Game 1 of the ALDS against the Rangers on September 30, 2011, where he pitched 7 scoreless innings for 2 hits and 6 strikeouts.[7]
