Tehran, IranNationality Iranian Masoud Mir Kazemi (مسعود میرکاظمی in Persian) is an Iranian politician who was Minister of Petroleum from 2009 to 2011,[1] replacing Gholamhossein Nozari after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was re-elected.[2] Kazemi had previously headed Shahed University and headed Iran's Ministry of Commerce.[2] Kazemi has discussed the possibility of making neighbouring Iraq a major gas export market, citing the destruction of Iraq's energy infrastructure as a result of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.[3]
On 14 October 2010, Mir Kazemi elected as OPEC Conference President for 2011 OPEC.
On 9 May 2011, it was announced that Mir Kazemi, Sadegh Mahsouli and Ali Akbar Mehrabian will leave the cabinet.[4] He was not enjoyed to the cabinet meetings from June 2011 and Mohammad Aliabadi was acting minister in his absence.
