The album reached the third place on the Oricon weekly albums chart, and charted for five weeks.[1] Live recordings of most songs from Mars can be found on the artist's first Platinum Box release.

- "Emu ~for my dear~" and "U+K" were written in memory of Malice Mizer ex-member and friend, Kami.[citation needed]
- While not sung in any actual language, the album's booklet still provides lyrics for the song "Ares".
- An acoustic re-recording of "Dears" later appeared on the album Love Letter.
- "Dears" is used as the BGM in a "Gundam the Ride" commercial.
