Mandarin Oriental, Singapore is a luxury hotel located in Marina Centre next to Marina Square Shopping Mall and near Suntec City, home to one of Asia Pacific’s largest convention centers – the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the city’s financial district. The hotel includes 527 rooms and suites, 6 restaurants and bars, and the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore.[1]

Location

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore is located in Marina Centre, which allows views of the Singapore skyline. The hotel is located next to Marina Square Shopping Mall and in close proximity to Singapore’s financial district. Nearby, the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre is one of Asia Pacific’s largest convention centers. Orchard Road, one of Singapore’s primary shopping corridors, is a ten to fifteen minute taxi ride from the hotel.[2]

The Singapore Flyer, which was the largest observation wheel in the world when it opened in 2008,[3] is visible from the hotel. Additionally, the world’s largest floating stage is at Marina Bay Floating Stadium, which is located in front of Mandarin Oriental, Singapore on Marina Bay.[4] The floating venue hosts concerts, athletic events, theatre performances and cultural festivals.

The Hotel

Originally built in 1987, the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore underwent a significant renovation in 2004 when H.L. Lim of LTW Design Works was hired to update the hotel’s interiors.[5] In both 2010 and 2011, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore was named to Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List.[6] The hotel’s 527 rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows that feature views of Marina Bay, the Pacific Ocean or the Singapore city skyline.[7] US Architect John Portman designed the atrium-style hotel based on a theatre concept and intended the exterior of the structure to resemble a fan, a nod to the Mandarin Oriental logo.[8][9] Near 100 pieces of fine regional art adorn the property’s interior.[10]

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore has two large ball rooms, 13 suites and boardrooms for meetings, and a number of function rooms of varying sizes.[11] Additionally, the hotel has a Business Center available to its guests.

Wellness amenities at the hotel include a 25 meter swimming pool, a fitness center, and the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore. The hotel also has six restaurants and bars, including Morton’s The Steakhouse (the first to be built outside of the United States).[12]

The hotel has six dining options as well as a bar and lounge. Of these, Cherry Garden, Dolce Vita, and MELT ~ The World Café have each been recognized for culinary excellence.[13] Mandarin Oriental, Singapore has a large ballroom as well as fourteen meeting rooms.

The Oriental Club

The Oriental Club Lounge, located on the top floor of the hotel, is a private lounge for guests staying on the 18th to 21st floors. Access to the lounge includes meeting spaces, complimentary cocktails, and panoramic views of the harbor.[14] The Oriental Club is the largest hotel lounge in Singapore.[15]

The Spa

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore comprises six treatment rooms, including two couples’ suites, a separate manicure-pedicure section, a reflexology area, a tea lounge for relaxation and one-to-one consultation areas.
