Jerzy Tomaszewski (born 1924 in Warsaw), known as Jur Tomaszewski, was a Polish artist, reporter and photographer.
He is known for the 1,000-odd pictures of the Warsaw Uprising that he took in 1944.[1] He was assigned by the Polish underground Bureau of Information and Propaganda (BIP) to document the battle. He photographed on Powiśle, Śródmieście and Wola until he was wounded on September 6. The last photos he took were placed on the door of his home.
Brother of artist Stanisław Miedza-Tomaszewski (also a member of Polish resistance in WWII).
