The entire municipality is part of the traditional region of Inner Carniola and is now included in the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church, built on a slight elevation to the north of the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Leonard and belongs to the Ig parish. It was a medieval church that was destroyed in 1942 and left in ruins until it was completely rebuilt between 1997 and 1998.[3]
