Early life
Bradley was born Andujar Alexander Bradley on October 9, 1982 in Belmopan, Belize to parents Alger Bradley and Debra Pratt-Miller. Bradley’s father was the CEO of Toucan Industries, a match producing factory and bottling plant in Belmopan, Belize. He was also an esteemed sports commentator, entrepreneur and socialite before his death in 2004. His mother is a veteran school-teacher. Before he was a year old, Bradley and his mother, immigrated to the United States settling in Crown Heights, NY. They eventually moved and he spent his youth growing up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, NY. Throughout his teen years he attended Boys and Girls High School in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, NY where he was mentored by then principal, Frank Mickens.
Team Revolution
At age 17 Bradley resided in the Canarsie area of Brooklyn. He noticed there was a lack of safe places for the young people in his neighborhood to meet. It was then that he opened a community center in the basement of the family home. The center focused on keeping youth off of the streets and encouraging them to be involved in the community by carrying out community service initiatives. Over time the number of members outgrew the home and they needed a larger meeting place. Because of the need for space and the expansion of the programs being offered, Bradley founded the New York based non-profit organization Team Revolution. The teamrevolution.org website describes itself as an organization focused developing community leaders and social entrepreneurs by providing “self-development programs, community service projects and an empowering educational environment…” to youth in disadvantaged communities.
Bradley and his team put together a fund raising drive in an effort to secure funds to expand the organization. The task netted over $20,000 in less than two weeks.
The funds were used to secure larger space for the growing non-profit. As the organization continued to grow, so did the programs offered. Bradley went on to develop programs within the organization such as The Bank, which boasts a curriculum focused on educating teens in the areas of Economic and Financial literacy; the Fellowship Academy, an institution intended to teach young people to make changes in their communities for the better; and the L.E.A.D. program that translates to “Leadership Etiquette and Development” which aims to develop young people into successful youth leaders.
