At the 2006 census, its population was 22,842, in 5,305 families.[2]
Divandarreh is located 95 kilometers from Sanandaj. Diwandarreh is a mountainous region and enjoys a mild climate. Diwandarreh is located north of Sanandaj and south of Saqqez. It is bounded in the north by West Azerbaijan Province, in the east by Bijar, and in the west by Marivan.
The population of Divandarreh is Kurdish.
