It's center is the city of Qorveh which is located in a large plain 93 km. east of Sanandaj and northwest of Hamadan and has expanded in the direction of the Sanandaj road towards Hamadan. In the past the seat of rule of this city was the Qaslan Village. Here the governor of the times was responsible for the construction of some buildings, a castle, mosque, bath, garden and large groves. Today, due to its distinctive geological characteristics, and mineral water springs, visitors and tourists are attracted to this city.In 2006 census it had a population of 65,842

Mohammad_Maleki_Zaeim Gorveh is a multicultural city. Kurds, Turks, and Fars including Sunnis and Shies live together in a peace and harmonic environment. People in Gorveh are very interested in sport and art. There are many famous artists and athletes in Iran who originated from this little beautiful city. Also Gorveh with her wonderful climate and friendly people is the destination of many curious tourists. There is an expression in Gorveh which says if you go Gorveh and have a glass of water you will never leave there.
