Devrukh is a town in the tehsil of Sangmeshwar in the Ratnagiri district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a headquarter for the tehsil Sangmeshwar. It is part of the Konkan region.

Devrukh was the birthplace of social reformer Parvatibai Athavale.

Educational facilities

Devrukh Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Devrukh, Founded in 1927, is one of the oldest educational institutes from Konkan Region of Maharashtra. Devrukh Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (DSPM) was founded in 1927 by Honourable Late Shri.Kakasaheb Pandit, Shri.Dadasaheb Maolankar (the first Speaker of Loksabha), Late Shri.Vinayakrao Ketkar Attorney at Law , Late Shri.Dadasaheb Pitre, Late Shri.Raosaheb Kulkarni, Late Shri.Dadasaheb Sardeshpande and other honourable citizens from Devrukh. New English School, Devrukh - The school educates from 5th Standard to 10th Standard courses. G. K. Sapre Jr. College of Science - This school is housed in the same campus as that of New English School Devrukh. The courses of 11th and 12th standard science are conducted here. Smt.Arudhatee Arun Padhye English Medium School, Devrukh, has recognition from the government of Maharashtra. The school is under the roof of Devrukh Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Devrukh.The school educates from Nursery to 8th std. The number of students is about 400.

Rajendra Mane College of Engineering and Technology is located at distance of 5 KM from Devrukh.

Tourism

Devrukh has two improtant destinations near it. First one is Marleshwar, a Cave Shiva Temple, which is at distance of 17 Km from Devrukh. Another is Karneshwar, which is hemandapati Style temple of Shiva located at around 22 Km from Devrukh.
