It has an altitude of 958 metres. The village was known as Vervini (Βερβινή) or Dervini (Δερβινή) until the early to mid 20th century.

Location
Kryovryssi is located 75 km from Pyrgos, 65 km east of Amaliada, 65 km south of Patras and 95 km west-northwest of Tripoli.

Kryovryssi is located on mount Erymanthos and is the most highest village in the Ilia prefecture with the elevation of 1,000 m. Kryogryssi is one the largest valley with only snow (icicles) and caves. It is bordered with Tripotama and Drosia. Farmlands are within the village.
About Kryovryssi
The location is founded in the only mountain in the prefecture and borders with the Achaia prefecture to the north and east. At a small distance featured an old earthened runway which in 1940 had air battles during World War II. By the village springs the Erymanthos River, nearby features Drakotrypa (Δρακότρυπα) or Diakotrypa (Διακότρυπα)[2]. Today, it has fewer inhabitants with the 2001 census of 600. The population decline after the mid 20th century but it saw a small comeback between 1991 and 2001. In 1840, Kryovryssi was part of the old municipality of Lampeia [3]
In mythological times. Hercules (Heracles) was killed by the Erymanthian Boar. Erymanthus before the civilization and the mythological periods which organized human society and made Arcas weaving. Famously the descendant of Zacynthus and Dardanus. He was the first to be an inhabitant of the island of Zakynthos and the second that ran Troy and the Dardanelles, the station was in Samothrace which had mysterious Kaviri signs with the name Dardanus[4].
Economy
Its residents live off in agriculture.
