Education system
The school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education system and has continuous tests and assignments. There are Formative Assessments and Summative Assessments as a part of CBSE(I) syllabus. In the 2010 Knowledge and Human Development Authority inspection, the school got an 'Good' rating and was rated as one of the best Indian Schools in UAE.[1]
Scholar Badge
The school, at the end of each academic year, gives a Scholar Badge to students of Grade V and above, for achieving an overall grade of A2 and a grade point average of 8.5 and above
Special awards
Some special awards are given for high achievers.
- All-Rounder: Given for an outstanding performance in both academics and extra-curricular activities.
- Academic Excellence Award:Given away to the highest aggregate percentage in all sections of that grade in a certain academic year.
- Special Proficiency: Given to students who have excelled in any extra-curricular activities.
- Subject Proficiency: Awarded to students who secured the highest marks in a certain subject in all sections of that grade in a certain academic year.
Students who achieve the Scholar Badge for three or more years are awarded Blue Blazer, Blue Badge, Blue Tie or Gold Medal.
Enrichment Programme
Students who get 80% or above in core subjects are eligible to appear for an advanced proficiency test.
Campus
This campus is located outside the main city, in The Gardens (Jebel Ali). The school buildings today comprise three computer labs, a physics lab, a chemistry lab, a maths lab,language labs, a library, an auditorium, a basketball court, a cricket ground, a multi-sports complex, an oval field for many sports, a cafeteria and two clinics, one for boys and one for girls. The clinics are operated by two nurses and a doctor. Parents are informed immediately about their child's injury/sickness. The school is divided into 5 blocks:-
- Boys' block(Grade 5 to 12 for Boys)
- Girls' and Primary block(Grades 1 to 4, 5 to 12 for girls)
- KG Block(KG 1, KG 2)(Also has an underground parking lot)
- Administrative Block(Reception, Bookstore, Clinic)
- Sports Complex block(Swimming Pool,Indoor Basketball Court, table tennis court, volleyball courts, etc.)

The Social Service Record is a record maintained by all students showing what they did to help someone during school vacations.
Excursions and Field Trips
The school organizes many field trips for students, to nearby places of interest in Dubai and Sharjah, like Safa Park, The Dubai Mall, Dubai Dolphinarium etc. It also organizes excursions to Indian cities and towns like Shimla, Jaipur etc. for senior students.[2]
Clubs
There are different clubs for different co-curricular activities and life skills like Public speaking, Survival skills, music, dance etc. They are held for Grades 6-12, on every Thursday.
Environmental operations
The school has three recycling bins, located in the Boys' and Girls' Blocks. The collected materials are given to Emirates Environmental Group for recycling. The school also actively participates in can collection drives, clean up drives, awareness campaigns and environmental education.[3]
Sports
DPS Dubai has teams for cricket, soccer, swimming, basketball, athletics, table tennis and badminton at different age levels. These teams practice on the three grounds, and the swimming pool of the school. The team also practices before school hours. DPS is an all-rounder by bagging many trophies in the field of sports.[4]
Scouts and Guides
There is a Scouts and Guides training after school hours, headed by Senior Supervisor Kishan Singh , a certified Scoutmaster. They are divided into two troops. Each troop has seven patrols. The troops go for a field trip or an excursion at the end of each month.
Annual Day
The school hosts an Annual Day at the end of every school year. Respected guests, including the DPSS chairman, and principals of other schools are present during the function. The event consists of different music and dance performances, and an Annual Report which highlights the achievements of the school during the academic year.
