David Treahearn

David Treahearn is a British record producer, songwriter and mix engineer^[1] based in London, United Kingdom. He has worked with some of the world's most successful artists including Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas, Oasis, Björk, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Depeche Mode and Elbow.

Olympic Music Studios UK Years

Treahearn began his music career at the UK's Olympic Studios from 2000 to 2005 as an assistant engineer to international Producer/Mixer Mark 'Spike' Stent^[2]. During this period he also worked out of major London and Los Angeles music studios including Abbey Road, Metropolis, The Town House, Westlake, Ocean Way and Henson and with other producers including Mirwais, Stuart Price, Richard 'Biff' Stannard, Dallas Austin and Ash Howes. Treahearn is credited on over 90 albums^[3] for artists including Massive Attack, Darren Hayes, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Kylie Minogue, Dave Matthews, Keane, New Order, Janet Jackson, Natascha Beddingfield, Marilyn Manson, Girls Aloud, Spice Girls and Turin Brakes.

Post Olympic Studios UK to Current

In 2007, Treahearn worked with French Producer Mirwais whom he had previously worked with on Madonna's American Life album, to mix the Fischerpooner track 'We Need A War' from the album Odyssey. He continued to mix, assist and engineer on various projects with The Spice Girls, Nelly Furtado, Sugababes, Alex Parks, Lee Ryan and Girls Aloud^[4]. In late 2007, Treahearn co-wrote, produced and mixed two albums in the 'Popstyles' series^[5][6] series with fellow producer and writer Rob Haggett, under the production name DNR for UK Music distribution company Boosey & Hawkes^[7]. DNR's song, taken from Popstyles (track 8),^[8] 'Talk to Me/Ice Cream', was picked up as a theme music track theme for Hong Kong's high rating TV series Moonlight Resonance and featured on the Asian Sony/BMG 2008 double CD compilation Strawberry Love.^[9][10][11].

In 2008, Treahearn worked with US Producer/Songwriter Robert Conley, whom he had worked with at Olympic Studios to mix Australian artist Axle Whitehead's debut album 'Losing Sleep'. The lead track taken from the album, 'I Don't Do Surprises', was a top 10 ARIA chart hit and was shortlisted in 2009 by APRA Industy awards for 'Most Played Australian Work'^[12] also in that year he is credited with Gary Barlow on the Soundtrack to the UK Musical TV Series Brittania High^[13]. Treahearn worked again French producer Mirwais Ahmadzaï, co-writing and co-producing the track 'Da' for French-Arabic project Y.A.S. on the debut album Arabology.

In 2010 Treahearn worked with producer Biffco in the UK on series 7 of The X Factor and on the UK Number One track^[14] 'Heroes' by The X Factor Finalists.

During 2010 and 2011, Treahearn continued to mix and produce under DNR, whom are credited producing and mixing established and breaking Australian artists such as The Scientists of Modern Music, Bertie Blackman, Kimbra, Tin Alley, ABC Radio Triple J 'un-earthed' artist Cullen^[15] and Faker.
