稻城亚丁机场IATA: none – ICAO: none Summary Airport type Public Location Daocheng, Sichuan, China Elevation AMSL 4,410 m / 14,469 ft Daocheng Yading Airport (Chinese: 稻城亚丁机场) is an airport scheduled for construction in Daocheng County in Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province, China. The site is located in Sangdui Township, 50 kilometers north of the county seat and 130 kilometers from Yading scenic area.[1] Construction is scheduled to start in late 2011 and the airport is expected to open in 2013.[2]
At 4,410 m (14,469 ft) above sea level, Daocheng Yading Airport will be higher than Qamdo Bangda Airport, the world's current highest airport (elevation 4,334 m (14,219 ft)),[2] but will be lower than Nagqu Dagring Airport, another airport scheduled for construction in Tibet at 4,436 m (14,554 ft).[3]
