Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) or Viduthalai Chiruthaigal (Tamil: விடுதலைச் சிறுத்தைகள்) is a people's movement and political party mainly based in Tamil Nadu.[1] It advocates for the rights and welfare of Dalits. Its leader is Thol. Thirumavalavan. It won two MLA seats in 2006 state assembly elections on its own in alliance with AIADMK. Now it is in the DMK front. It was involved in a controversy involving the south Indian actress Kushboo.[2]
