The Indian National League (INL) is a Muslim-based
political party inIndia , mainly active in the states ofKerala andTamil Nadu . INL is a splinter-group of theIndian Union Muslim League (IUML). The party was formed April 23, 1993 whenIbrahim Sulaiman Sait was expelled from IUML.The Indian National League also operates two branches for young people: a youth wing called the
National Youth League and a student wing called theNational Students' League .Prominence

1996 , INL was an ally ofDravida Munnetra Kazhagam , and won five seats.*In Kerala, INL has close relations with the
Left Democratic Front . In the state assembly elections in2001 INL launched one candidate, supported by LDF, inTirur . The candidate, professorA.P. Abdul Vahab , received 45,511 votes (39.78%).*In the Tamil Nadu state assembly elections in
2001 , INL was an ally ofAll India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam .*In the
2004 Lok Sabha elections, INL launched four candidates inWest Bengal and participated in a "third front" in Tamil Nadu, led byPuthiya Tamizhagam .*In Kerala, INL has close relations with the
Left Democratic Front . In the state assembly elections in2006 INL launched three candidates, supported by LDF, inManjeri, Kasargod, Kozhikode 2 . The candidates are , professor [A.P. Abdul Vahab(Manjeri) N.A.Nellikunnu (Kazargod)Advt.P.M.A.Salam(Kozhikode 2). Advt.P.M.A.Salam and won Kozhikode 2, ally in LDF.
