Tsumadinsky District (Russian: Цумадинский райо́н) is an administrative and a municipal district (raion), one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. The area of the district is 1,100 square kilometers (420 sq mi).^{[citation needed]} Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Agvali.^[1] District's population: 24,319 (2010 Census preliminary results);^[2] 20,632 (2002 Census);^[1] 16,194 (1989 Census).^[6] Population of Agvali accounts for 9.8% of the district's population.^[1]
