Cregmore (Lackagh parish)

Cregmore (Irish: An Chreag Mhór, meaning "big rock") is a small rural area situated in the parish of Lackagh, County Galway, Ireland. It has a soccer club, a primary school and a golf course. The school is trying to collect funds to build a new school hall through fundraising events such as A BBQ a jumble sale and just recently a fashion show. The fashion show was on the 22nd of October 2009. The name of the locality is derived from the Irish An Chreag Mhór roughly meaning 'big rock', a reference to the steep hill which is a defining characteristic of the area in general and the local road which runs through it.
