Coyle Middle School is a public middle school located in Rowlett, Texas (USA). Coyle Middle School enrolls students in grades 6-8 and is a part of the Garland Independent School District. The school's current principal is Ray Merrill. The two assistant principals are Nikketta Wilson and David Wood. The school is named after a key founding father of Rowlett, Ed Coyle. It was founded in 1973 and has won numerous trophies and awards, like for athletic matches and choir, to name a few. They also have a committee just for making the annual yearbook, which comes out rather splendid. They have several extra curriculum activities available, like the Academic Pentathlon and Lite brigade.

In 2010, the school was rated "Recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.^[7]

The attendance rate for students at the school is 96%, compared with a state average of 96%. 7% of the students at Coyle are economically disadvantaged, 8% enroll in special education, 23% enroll in gifted and talent programs, 18% are enrolled in career and technology programs, and 10% are considered "limited English proficient."^[4]

The ethnic makeup of the school is 72% White, non-Hispanic, 16% Hispanic, 8% African American, 4% Asian/Pacific Islander, and 0% Native American.^[4]

The average class sizes at Coyle are 21 students for English, 19 for foreign language, 23 for math, 24 for science, and 24 for social studies.^[4]

Teachers at the school carry, on average, 2 years of teaching experience and 84% of the teachers on staff are first-year teachers.^[4]
