History

Established in 1982, Congrex was originally an independent group of companies, whose parent company, Congrex Holding BV was registered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.[3] Through acquisitions of event companies Concorde Services Ltd, Congrexpo, SKD Euroconf, Congreca, Asocius, AKM Congress and AKM Travel, the company expanded to its current size operating 17 offices across the world. In December 2007, Association Global Services AG (AGS) joined forces with Congrex adding association management to the company’s service offering.[2] Congrex celebrated their 25th birthday in January 2008, by organising their own forum for 360 staff members. The event included the creation of a 100 square meter Big Picture, consisting of 80 staff painted canvasses.[4]

Congrex Rebranding

Congrex' one brand strategy has been implemented throughout the company in the first half of 2010. The rebranding of AGS went along with an overall update of the brand, website and visual identity.[5][6]

Awards

Congrex has won major awards for its organisation of events including “Best International Convention Award” by the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) for the World Allergy Congress 2007.[7]
