Career
D'Souza has written for publications such as The Guardian,[1] the Daily Mail,[2] The Times,[3] The Daily Telegraph,[4] Vanity Fair, the Evening Standard,[5] and W (magazine),[6] in addition to her current role as contributing editor of British Vogue. D'Souza was previously Editor-at-large of Tatler.
In her articles, D'Souza often probes body issues such as ageing,[7][1] weight-control, Anorexia,[8][9] food and diet,[10] cosmetic surgery,[2] health,[11] and her own battle with cancer.[12] D'Souza's articles have been praised for their humour and honesty[13] and are often autobiographical[14] and controversial in their subject matter – taking Vogue 'where it's never been before by publishing a three page article entitled Poo, the Last Taboo'.[15]
D'Souza also specialises in interviews, and regularly does the cover star interview for British Vogue (such as Rihanna, Adele, Cheryl Cole and Alexa Chung in recent years).[16][17][18][19] D'Souza has also interviewed celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry,[20] Catherine Zeta-Jones,[21] Dannii Minogue, Ronnie Wood, Salma Hayek, Lindsay Lohan, Trudie Styler,[22] Renée Zellweger,[23] Nicole Kidman and Kanye West, as well as designers such as Alexander McQueen, Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane and Donatella Versace[24][25] for various magazines and newspapers.
Personal life
D'Souza is the daughter of Lord Speaker Baroness D'Souza. She lives in West London with long-term partner Nicholas Allott (Managing Director of Cameron Mackintosh Ltd) and their two sons.[26] Nicholas also has two sons from his marriage to Anneka Rice.
Charity Work
D'Souza is a keen supporter of the school that her mother co-founded, the Marefat High School in West Kabul, Afghanistan. D'Souza visited the school with her mother in 2010,[3] and co-hosted the Marefat Dinner fundraiser with Oxford's Aloysius Society at The Connaught (hotel) in February 2011.[27] The dinner raised over £150,000 for the school.
