Charles "Trigger Happy"[1][2] Fischetti (11 August 1891 – 11 April 1951[3]) was a Chicago mobster, former Capone bodyguard and Mafia leader.[3]
Fischetti was called a notorious Chicago gangster in the FBI files.[4] He was the mob's political fixer in Chicago. He was also Al Capone's cousin[5] and his reputed consigliere. Fischetti and his brother Rocco ran the lavish Vernon Country Club in Chicago. Fischetti attended the 1946 Havana Conference of Cosa Nostra leaders and received the "murder contract" on Bugsy Siegel. Fischetti was also good friends with singers Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, the former as early as the 1940s.[4]
Fischetti and his brother Rocco surrendered 2 April 1951 to the sergeant-at-arms of the United States Senate having been sought to testify before the Senate Crime Investigating Committee (Kefauver committee). Charles Fischetti died nine days later,[3] before he could testify. He died in his Miami Beach home of a heart attack, according to his physician.[3]
