"Rockin' Chair"
"Rockin' Chair" was the first single taken from the Goodnight L.A. album. Written with Russ Ballard, who has had many hits by many artists including, Rainbow, it is the only single that Tony Clarkin has ever shared writing credits."Vigilante"
Recorded in Switzerland, it became the title track for Magnum's first album with Polydor and was featured in the special edition of The Tube based on The Prisoner series."C'est La Vie"
Originally only available as the extra track on the single "Start Talking Love" it was recorded in Wisseloord Studios, the Netherlands, in 1987."Heartbroke And Busted"
Produced by Keith Olsen, in Goodnight L.A. Studios, Los Angeles this became the second single lifted from the Goodnight L.A. album. This album was over two years in the making."On A Storyteller's Night"
This is a live version of the title song from probably the band's most notable album. It was recorded at Hammersmith in 1990 and was co-produced by the man who does such a wonderful job with the band's live sound, John Halke."Start Talking Love"
The bands first top thirty hit came as such a surprise that they had to interrupt a European tour so that they could fly back to do Top Of The Pops. It was the second single from their Wings Of Heaven album."Mama"
Whilst recording this track for the Goodnight L.A. album the band experienced one of California's less attractive features as they endured a 5.2 earthquake."Lonely Night"
It was very good of Mickey Barker to interrupt his skiing at Gstaadt so that the band could record this track, in Mountain Studios, Montreux, Switzerland. It became the bands first single for Polydor."Crying Time"
Recorded with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, in Munich, this song was featured as the extra track on the single "It Must Have Been Love"."Midnight (You Won't Be Sleeping)" [Remix]
The second single from the Vigilante album was recorded overlooking Lake Geneva and was produced by Queen's Roger Taylor and Dave Richards. The version here appeared on the 12" format of the single."It Must Have Been Love"
The third single taken from the Wings Of Heaven album, it features the London Gospel Choir."Days Of No Trust"
This specially recorded version, recorded at Trevor Horns' Sarm West Studios, London, was produced by Cars producer Joe Barbaria. It was the first single taken from the Wings Of Heaven album. All three singles went Top Forty."Don't Wake The Lion"
One of the true Magnum epics. It has three different movements and is over ten minutes long. This was the first time Mark Stanway had been introduced to the Fairlight Computer and he made the most of it. Listen to the sounds in the middle section."Just Like An Arrow"
Recorded at UB40's studios in the bands home town of Birmingham. This was the bands first single of any significance. Due to its popularity it has since been covered by other artists."When The World Comes Down"
Featuring Roger Taylor of Queen on backing vocals this song will need no introduction to anybody who knows Magnum and is the obvious conclusion, as it is in the live performances, to any collection of their material.Personnel
