Cuautitlán Assembly

The Cuautitlán Assembly Plant is a Ford Motor Company manufacturing facility located in Cuautitlán Izcalli, México. The 202-acre (0.82 km2) site opened in 1964 and currently builds the Fiesta. Construction of the plant started in 1962, completed and inaugurated on November 4, 1964. The assembly plants began operation in 1970.[1]

In 2010, the plant switched to build the Fiesta subcompact for the North American market.[2]

Past products include the Ford LTD, Mercury Grand Marquis, Ford Thunderbird, Mercury Cougar (sold as a Ford), Ford Tempo, Mercury Topaz (sold as Ford Ghia), Ford Contour, and Mercury Mystique (also sold as a Ford).
