Marko Nešić (2005)

Marko Nešić (born 5 November 1976 in Pančevo, Yugoslavia - now Serbia) is a Serbian conductor, composer, Associate Professor - Docent of Orchestration and (since September 2010) Vice Dean at the Faculty of Arts of Priština-Zvečan[1][2] and teacher at High Music School "dr Miloje Milojević", Kragujevac.[3]

Education

He graduated from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Professor Jovan Šajnović- who was a follower of famous conducting school from Germany (Otto Klemperer was professor of Friedrich Zaun, and Professor Zaun was teacher of Professor Šajnović).

Teaching career

He taught Conducting, Playing Choral Partitures, led Mixed Youth Choir "Kir Stefan Srbin" and String Orchestra from High Music School of Kragujevac. Since 2009 he has been teaching Orchestration at the University of Priština Faculty of Arts.[4][5]

Affiliations

Mr. Nešić is the President of Young Monarchist Club (Serbian: Klub mladih monarhista); he was the President of Rotaract Club of Kragujevac; member of Europa Cantat (Germany) and Conductors Guild (USA).

  • 1995 Festival dečijih horova Srbije (Festival of childer choirs), Šabac: BRONZANA PLAKETA-BRONZE MEDAL with childer choir from Pristina.
  • 1998 prize "The Best 5" as one of the best students from Belgrade University.
  • 2000 Gold medal - 25. Festival of Youth Choirs, Novi Pazar, Serbia with Mixed Youth Choir "Kir Stefan Srbin", Kragujevac and proclaimed to be "The best conductor" of Festival.
  • 2000 participant of Rotary Youth Leadership Award Seminar, Loccum, Germany.
  • 2000 awarded with Diploma as taking part in international project "Singing for Peace and Justice". Signatory's of this Diploma is Mr. Kofi Annan, Secretary-General of the United Nations, Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden; Mrs. Mary McAleese, President of Ireland; King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV of Tonga; Mr. Eskil Hemberg, President of International Federation of Choral Music; Mr. Erik Westberg, Professor, School of Music, Lulea University of Technology, Sweden.

  • 2007 - participant at International Seminar in Marktoberdorf (Germany)-Bavarian Music Academy and work with Prof. Volker Hempfling and Jonathan Velasco (Filippini). Performance with Choir "Mendoza", Argentina.
  • 2008 First Prize - Belgrade National Competition with Mixed Choir "Kir Stefan Srbin", Music school Kragujevac.

  • 2010 Gold medal - 9 Choral Festival Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina in category of Mixed choirs.
  • 2010 Grand Prix - 9 Choral Festival Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina - absolutely winner of the Festival in concurrence of 43 choirs from BiH, Croatia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia.
