The name Malu cu Flori is historical. Malu cu Flori is located in the Subcarpathian Mountains close to the peak Leaota, connecting the plains with the mountains. Since long time ago when people traveled from place to place to trade their products, they came from the plain areas with grains to change them for metal. On this hill the travelers made a stop to relax, and named the place Malu cu Flori from the lilac bushes that used to grow everywhere on this area. Looking from the mountain, Malu cu Flori creates the impression of a quiet green depression surrounded by very high hills and forests, and cut it by the Dambovita river, and by the national route Targoviste-Campulung. Even Though the Dambovita river looks small, from time to time during decades is floating puting in danger the population from Lunca, and Capul Coastei areas. Another problem is land sliding of the high area such as Miclosani. Malu cu Flori is a reach community with great people (Flori Ciurezu-USA).[2]
