Titu is a town in Dâmboviţa County, southern Romania with a population of 10,226 as of 2002, best known for its yearly September 14 "bâlci" (fair).Titu is divided in 3 main zones.These are:
# "Titu-gara" - The main part of the city,it contains the town hall,the nr.1 school,the train station and most important buildings.
# "Titu-targ" - the second most important zone:it is a rural zone and have the town's library and the 2nd school.It is also the place where the "balci" is held
# "Salcuta" - the most uniportant and the smallest zone, it is a rural zone and contains nothing important except a church.

On March 22, 2007, the Romanian Agency for Foreign Investment, or ARIS, signed with France's carmaker Renault, the memorandum on implementing the investment project to build a car research and design center worth about EUR450 million in the town of Titu. It has been reported that up to 3,000 new jobs will be created at the site.
