Forest Hill is located at coor dms|39|35|06|N|76|23|16|W|city (39.585106, -76.387739). Its elevation is 577 feet (176 m).
Town layout
Forest Hill is spread out across Route 24, the main route through town. The area north of town is mostly undeveloped, but the main intersection is more developed. It includes the Forest Hill Elementary School, the
post office , aPNC Bank , and a few offices. There was aSunoco station that closed down in 2006, and an adjacentconvenience store that closed two years later. Just east on Jarrettsville Road is the oldMa and Pa Railroad station, the Forest Hill branch of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, and the Friends Park. Also, there is the Forest Hill Airpark, where cargo planes take off and land, and where several commercial businesses are. South of town, on Route 24, and on the south side of the Route 23 intersection is the second location of Klein's store that opened in the 1940's, a bank, and anExxon station, among other commercial businesses, up to Forest Lake, a neighborhood extending to Grafton Shop Road. In Rock Spring, at the U.S. 1/Bel Air Bypass intersection, there are a couple ofshopping centers still in the Forest Hill zipcode area.References
