Deighton (pronounced "Dee-ton") is a district of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. It is situated 2 miles (3.2 km) north west of the town centre and lies off the A62 Leeds Road.

Deighton was formally known as East Bradley, the present day Bradley was called West Bradley, the decision to change the name to Deighton was when the Deighton family bought the area stretching from Screamer Woods (near the Deighton Fields) to Sheepridge and Brackenhall.

Deighton has its own railway station on the Huddersfield Line for services to Huddersfield, Leeds and Wakefield. The typical journey time to Huddersfield is usually 7 minutes, Wakefield Westgate 31 minutes and to Leeds 34 minutes.

The Deighton Centre on Deighton Road is a place for educational, training and leisure activities. The Deighton Centre was formerly a high school for Deighton, Bradley and Brackenhall students. Deighton High School closed on 31 August 1992 and most students and some teachers where relocated to nearby Fartown High School. The centre was renovated to become a sports/music venue and the recently built Deighton Arena houses a gym, squash court and basketball court. It is also a venue for Reggae Dancehall music.

The chemical company Syngenta has a large plant off the A62 Leeds Road.

The nearby Leeds Road Playing Fields contains Football, Cricket and all weather pitches. Plus a sports hall and an athletics track. Home to Kirklees Ladies FC. The population in Deighton is around 10,000

Deighton Carnival

Deighton is a multi-racial district and is home to Deighton Carnival, held in late June every year organised by Fresh Horizons - A community based Social Enterprise based in Deighton. Deighton Carnival started in 2002 and attracts 3,000 people from Deighton and the rest of Huddersfield. The carnival starts with a procession of floats (usually 5 or 6) leaving the Deighton Centre from approximately 1pm, playing Reggae Dancehall, Baseline, RnB, Garage and Reggae on the road, costumed bands make up more of the procession including Suga Brown dance group, "Whitacre TRA" and also from Bradley Junior and Infant and Ashbrow Junior and Infant schools.

The procession attracts viewers on the streets of Deighton until it returns to the Deighton Centre at around 4pm and the event continues in the field where stage performances, food stalls, fairground rides and a five-a-side football tournament happens.
