Hamilton, Mississippi Hamilton is an unincorporated community in Monroe County, Mississippi, United States. It was the original county seat until Monroe County was split with the formation of Lowndes County to the south; the county seat of Monroe County was then moved north to Aberdeen.

Hamilton School
Part of the Monroe County School District (Mississippi) Monroe county website(mcsd), Hamilton is a K-12th School Consisting of an Elementary School, Library, Middle/High School, and two P.E. Gyms. Current High School principal is Tim Dickerson, Elementary principal is Linda Reed, and Librarian Mrs. Reynolds. Student body consists of about 1000 students.

Hamilton has several extra-curricular activities, but since the school is small it has fewer than larger schools in larger, or wealthier states
Music
Hamilton School's musical projects consist of a Band program (marching and performing plus minor( 6-8th grade)) and Chorus projects(high school and minor)leads by mrs. robyn winders.
Sports
Hamilton has a track and field team of one member, a golf team (Grades 7-12), football team (Lions), basketball team, and softball team (Lady Lions), which recently won the state championship. All of these are minor and High School Operations(Jr. High and High School), and some are age groups 9-12 for elementary.

Columbus AFB
Columbus AFB is located approximately 12 miles south of Hamilton off Highway 45. Many in the community are employed at the base, mostly in the capacity of Civil Service or contractors supporting aircraft maintenance on the base (DynCorp). RTI International Metals
Currently RTI International Metals, visit their website here, is building a $300 million Titanium Sponge plant in Hamilton, MS. the plant will run off the waste of Tronox's titanium waste.
