- Yeo Mill railway station
Yeo Mill Halt was a small railway station in
Devon to the west ofDulverton . It was on theDevon and Somerset Railway that ran between Taunton and Barnstaple. The Devon and Somerset was originally operated by theBristol and Exeter Railway and was taken over with the B&E by theGreat Western Railway .The section of the line between Wiveliscombe and Barnstaple opened on
1 November 1873 . Yeo Mill station was a late addition to the line, opening on27 June 1932 at a time when the Great Western was opening a lot of small stations to try to counter the effects of competition from road transport. Yeo Mill was on a single track part of the line and had a single platform on the up side of the line (towards Taunton). The station platform was built out of timber and had a small wooden shelter.Never staffed or offering goods services, Yeo Mill was run from
East Anstey railway station convert|1.5|mi|km to the east. It closed to passenger traffic with the closure of the Devon and Somerset line on3 October 1966 . The station has now been demolished.ervices
