Homorod — Commune — Coordinates: 46°2′30″N 25°17′3″E / 46.04167°N 25.28417°E Country Romania County Braşov County Population (2002)[1] 2,400 Time zone EET (UTC+2) – Summer (DST) EEST (UTC+3) Homorod (German: Hamruden; Hungarian: Homoród) is a commune in Braşov County, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Homorod, Jimbor and Mercheaşa.
At the 2002 census, 50.7% of inhabitants were Romanians, 31.2% Hungarians, 16.2% Roma and 1.8% Germans. 64.6% were Romanian Orthodox, 11.8% Evangelical Lutheran, 8.3% Roman Catholic, 6.5% Unitarian, 2.8% Reformed, 2.3% belonged to another religion, and 1.5% Evangelical of Augustan Confession.
