Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District

The Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District is a school district based in Sonoma County, California.

The District serves approximately 6,700 students in the cities of Cotati and Rohnert Park and neighboring areas of Sonoma County. The district operates eight elementary schools, two middle schools, a community day school, one comprehensive high school, a magnet school, one necessary small high school, and one Waldorf high school.

The district's offices are located at 5860 Labath Avenue, Rohnert Park, CA 94928.

The district is supported by the Education Foundation of Cotati & Rohnert Park, a non-profit organization founded in 1983 to provide private grants to the school district. Since its founding, the organization has made grants totaling over $850,000 to the district's schools.[1]

The district is governed by a board consisting of Leffler Brown (term expires 2014), Andrew Longmire (2014), Marc Orloff (2014), Ed Gilardi (2012), and Karyn Pulley (2012).[2] The superintendent is Dr. Robert Haley.[3]

High schools - Four in Rohnert Park

Middle schools - Two in Rohnert Park:

  • Lawrence E. Jones Middle School - In Spring 2010, the school district closed Mountain Shadows Middle School due to district-wide declining enrollment and the California budget crisis[4] and merged it with Creekside Middle School, which opened in 1995. The combined school, on the former Creekside campus, opened in August 2010 and was named Lawrence E. Jones after a longtime School Resource Officer.[5]
