NHL FaceOff is a video game series and SCEA's first Hockey IP for the PlayStation[1]. The game spawned many sequels for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2, but the series didn't make the jump to the PlayStation 3. This game was in a series of early SCEA sports games including NFL GameDay, NCAA GameBreaker and ESPN Extreme Games (later renamed the Xtreme Games series). The game was initially released in North America on November 30, 1995. The game featured multiplayer. The ESRB rating originally was rated T (Teen), but since FaceOff 99, the game has been rated E (Everyone).[2]
